Before you make a purchase, I want to let you know about my experience as well as a recent purchase. I’ll go through the exact process.

My Experience With Soccer.com

On Friday, July 14, 2023, I placed an order for a new pair of cleats for my son’s upcoming fall season. This is earlier than usual this year!

I chose soccer.com because they had the exact cleats my son wanted in the right size. Plus (since I’m frugal), I found them less expensive compared to other retailers.

The order receipt says the following:

• Estimated to ship on: July 19, 2023
• Shipped on: July 14, 2023
• Estimated delivery on July 25, 2023
• Arrived on July 21, 2023. This is still earlier than expected.

Just for kicks, I wanted to see what the delivery times would be for other online retailers.

Here’s what I found when I added the Adidas cleats to the shopping cart:

• Adidas: Expected delivery on July 19, 2023
• Dicks Sporting Goods: Expected delivery on July 15, 2023

So, yes, the expected delivery time for soccer.com was longer. But, it was shipped on July 14th and I received them on July 21st.

Not too shabby but if you are looking to get your stuff in two or three days then soccer.com might not be your number one option.

I think one of the biggest downfalls for soccer.com is using FedEx Smartpost to cut down on shipping expenses.

Essentially, FedEx hands off the package to USPS which delivers it to the final destination. Tracking gets wonky and shipping times are longer.

With this said, I still came out on top as I saved on the cleats as you’ll read below.

Cost of Cleats

The cost of the pair of cleats was cheaper than almost all other retailers. I was able to get a discount with my Goal Club Membership and another coupon code. It came out to $146 and it retails for $160.

Backordered Items

If you’re team orders their uniforms from soccer.com you may run into items being back ordered. I think sometimes they overextend themselves.

For example, my son’s team has a home and an away kit, the white Nike shorts was backordered and he didn’t have them for a few weeks. In our case, it didn’t matter too much since the first game didn’t start.

But, the procrastinators didn’t get their uniforms in until the second game 😬

The kits are almost out of your control as you have to get them. I advise you just to order them as soon as you know about it!

Uniform Printing

One year, it seemed like soccer.com goofed up and didn’t print the numbers on the jerseys correctly. Many of the kids had peeled off numbers which was a bad look.

We were able to exchange them but, again, it took a few weeks to get the new tops in.
