I’m 👋 Beau. I’m a Dad, Husband, soccer coach and enthusiast. We live in a small 🌊 coastal town called Hampton, New Hampshire.
Some of my favorite things include:
– Watching and playing soccer
– Playing men’s league basketball
– Spending time with the fam and friends
– Running around with the pups in the backyard
– Visiting new cities and places
– Sushi, pizza, and ice cream
– Working on SoccerNovo (I actually love it)
For most of my youth life, I played soccer, basketball, and baseball. As I transitioned to high school, my focus was basketball. Standing at 5’7″, I managed to become an all-stater in New Hampshire as a point guard. After graduating, I played a year at Rivier University and ended up graduating from Umass-Lowell.
Even though basketball was my passion, soccer was always my first love. I was a tenacious defender and midfielder. Looking back, I wish I pursued soccer in high school and college.
Fast forward to 2014 when my five-year-old son started playing. This is when the spark came alive again. From here, I fell in love with coaching and training soccer. Over the last decade, my passion has been helping youth soccer players maximize their potential.
I continue to love the game of soccer today the same way I did when I was 7. I love watching my sons play the game they enjoy with the kids they’ve bonded with over the years. Lifelong friendships have been made on the field and throughout my adult life. The game has brought me so much joy that I feel an urge to give back to those players and parents coming up!
The real reason why I created soccernovo.com was to provide full transparency for youth soccer in the United States. I’ve talked to many parents who are simply left in the dark. And, I’ve seen talented players not get a fair shot because their parents didn’t understand the landscape or couldn’t find competitive soccer clubs in their area.
I want to level the playing field and provide content that will help parents, players, coaches, and soccer organizations across the U.S.
My oldest plays in MLS NEXT and has been great for his development. But, I know there are many other options including ECNL and (on the female side) Girls Academy. The pyramid goes down to more club-level leagues, travel, and recreational soccer as well. There are many more options today than there were 10 years ago.
I’m very optimistic about where the soccer landscape is going in the States. I think we’ve come a long way in recent years but only in our infancy. I hope to see the day when MLS is as competitive as the Premier League and our youth organizations are excelling.
