Taha Habroune, a 17-year-old midfielder, has signed with the Columbus Crew as a homegrown player.
Habroune is a product of the Crew Academy and has played for Crew 2. He is also a key contributor to the U.S. Men’s Youth National Team (USMYNT).
This signing makes Habroune the 21st Homegrown Player signing in Club history.
The Crew announced the signing on Wednesday. He signed through 2027 with a 2028 club option.
Habroune is the first player in franchise history to follow that career path — Academy to Crew 2 — to a first-team MLS contract. He was signed to an MLS Next Pro contract earlier this year.
This is the pathway MLS was hoping for when they introduced MLS Next and MLS Next Pro into the fold.
Habroune should make an impact on the already talented roster.
