UNC Wins the Women’s 2024 College Cup
The University of North Carolina reaffirmed its dominance in collegiate soccer by winning the 2024 Women’s College Cup.
NCAA tournament wins on the road to the championship:
- USC Upstate 8-0
- Santa Clara (#11) 1-0
- Minnesota 3-0
- Penn State (#22) 2-1
- Duke (#1) 3-0
In a thrilling final versus Wake Forest, the Tar Heels combined skill, determination, and teamwork to claim another record-setting title, solidifying their storied legacy and continued excellence.
College Cup Championship Match
The championship match against Wake Forest was a defining moment for UNC. Battling through a competitive first half, they found themselves facing a determined defense.
In the 61st minute, Olivia Thomas executed a remarkable free kick that sailed into the side netting, clinching the game.
This goal showcased her remarkable skills and was a testament to the team’s resilience throughout the season.
As the final whistle blew, UNC celebrated their hard-fought 1-0 victory.
This was their 23rd national title making them a dynasty among women’s college sports.
