In a very heated CONCACAF Nations League semifinal, the USMNT defeated Mexico 3-0 in Las Vegas on Thursday night. Just take a look at this dirty play…
The match saw the USMNT dominate throughout, with Mexico struggling to keep up. The win marks the sixth straight game without defeat for the USMNT.
Here’s a recap of the match.
USMNT Defeats Mexico in CONCACAF Nations League Semifinal
The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) dominated Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal, winning 3-0 in front of a sellout crowd of 65,000 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on June 15, 2023.
The USMNT’s victory was secured by two goals from Christian Pulisic and one from Ricardo Pepi.
The USMNT started the game strongly, with Pulisic scoring the first and second goals in the 37th & 46th minutes. Mexico struggled to respond, and the USMNT continued to dominate throughout the game.
To put some icing on top of the win, Pepi scored the third goal in the 78th minute
The USMNT’s defense was also impressive, with goalkeeper Matt Turner making a key save to keep Mexico from scoring.
The USMNT’s defense was also helped by strong performances from defenders who only allowed five shots.
The game was not without controversy, however. The referee ended the game 4-minutes early due to anti-gay chants from some Mexican fans.
Despite this, the USMNT’s victory was well-deserved, and they will now advance to the CONCACAF Nations League final.
USMNT’s Road to the Semifinals
