When Should I Start Reaching Out to College Soccer Coaches?
Most soccer players should start sending introductory emails to college coaches the summer going into their junior year.
If you think you are a Division 1 caliber player, the best time to start emailing colleges is in your sophomore year. Many of the top universities will start recruiting during this year. These rosters fill up the fastest.
Keep in mind that Division 1 college coaches can’t reach back out until June 15th of your sophomore year.

Division 2 has the same rules as Division 1 but has more wiggle room in the recruiting process. I would still reach out toward the end of your sophomore year or the beginning of your junior year.
Division 3 is the most lenient. You can start emailing them sometime during your junior year. This is a good backup just in case the recruiting process doesn’t work out for a D2 school.

You’ll want to tweak this example to your own personality. This can give you a framework for an intro email to the coach.
