US Club Soccer Will Host Two National id2 Camps in February 2026

US Club Soccer is starting the largest youth player search in the country to find the best 2012-born soccer players for special training camps in 2026.
TL;DR:
The Big Picture for the id2 Program
US Club Soccer wants to find more talented young players than ever before. They’re looking for kids born in 2012 who show special skills on the soccer field. These players could one day represent the United States in international competitions.
The program is called id2, and it works like a backup team for the official U.S. national youth teams. Scouts have been watching players since August at games, showcases, and tournaments all over America.
Two Big Camps Coming Up in CA & GA
The first camp happens in February in Chula Vista, California. Girls will train from February 11-15, while boys get their turn February 18-22. At this camp, players will take fitness tests, practice with top coaches, play games, and learn in classrooms.
Coaches will create a team environment that pushes players to work hard, take responsibility, and respect others. This helps young athletes develop both their soccer skills and their character.
The second camp in May takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. Only the very best players from the February camp will get invited – just 35 boys and 35 girls. Boys attend May 7-12, and girls go May 26-31.
Famous Players Started Here
Players who make it to the final camp join an exclusive group. Past id2 participants include famous soccer stars like Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah, Trinity Rodman, Tyler Adams, and Mallory Swanson. These players now compete for the U.S. national teams and professional clubs around the world.
Scouts Everywhere
US Club Soccer has hired more than 50 scouts in just two months. They expect to double that number soon. These scouts watch players at big tournaments like ECNL Spotlight Games and Midwest Select Games.
But they also visit regular club and league games. This helps them see how players perform in their normal environment, not just at special showcase events.
Looking Ahead
Starting in the 2026-27 season, US Club Soccer will run programs for both 2013 and 2012-born players. They’re also building a talent pool of 2014-born players for the future.
This shows they’re thinking long-term about finding and developing young talent. The goal is to identify promising players early, help them improve, and track their progress over time!
