U17 USWNT Punches Ticket to 2025 World Cup!

The U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team has qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after beating El Salvador 7-0 in their final match of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers.
TL;DR:
The Big Win
The young American soccer stars showed they’re ready for the world stage! In their final match against El Salvador, Team USA dominated with a huge 7-0 win. This victory helped them qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025.
This is the seventh time the U.S. has qualified for this tournament, and the fifth time in a row. I think this impressive record shows how strong our youth soccer program has become over the years.
Star Players Shine Bright
Forwards Micayla Johnson and Ashlyn Anderson were the top scorers for Team USA, each scoring four goals during the qualifiers. Anderson also had three assists, giving her an impressive seven total goal contributions.
Johnson started the scoring in the El Salvador match, firing a shot inside the near post in the 11th minute after cutting past a defender. The goals kept coming after that!
How the Goals Happened
The U.S. team built their lead throughout the game:
- Scottie Antonucci made it 2-0 in the 20th minute
- Anderson increased the lead to 3-0 just one minute into the second half
- Jaiden Rodriguez scored in the 49th minute
- Johnson converted a penalty kick in the 55th minute
- Nanya Touray added another goal in the 58th minute
- Gracie Milam finished the scoring in the 75th minute to make it 7-0
The goalkeeper, Peyton Trayer, even saved a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to keep El Salvador from scoring.
Building for the Future
It’s impressive to see how many young players got valuable experience during these matches. All 21 players on the U.S. roster got playing time during the qualifiers, with 20 of them making at least one start.
In my opinion, this shows excellent coaching by giving so many players international experience, which will help develop the team’s depth for the World Cup.
The Road to Morocco
The USA joins Mexico as the latest teams to qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. So far, nine countries have earned spots in the tournament:
- Host country: Morocco
- From Concacaf: USA and Mexico
- From Asia: China PR, Japan, Korea DPR, and Korea Republic
- From Oceania: New Zealand and Samoa
All the players on the U.S. team were born in 2008, making them eligible for this U-17 tournament.
With their strong qualifying performance, Team USA looks ready to compete for the World Cup trophy in Morocco later this year!
