The Girls Academy (GA) is a youth soccer league in the United States, designed specifically for elite female soccer players. It was established in 2020 as an alternative to the now-defunct U.S. Soccer Development Academy (DA) for girls, offering a high level of competition, training, and development opportunities for young female athletes.

2024/2025 Player Rules & Regulations

  • U-13, U-14, U-15: (2) 40 minute halves, 10 minute HT
  • U-16, U-17, U-19: (2) 45 minute halves, 10 minute HT

All games have 5 moments per game and no more than 3 moments per half. A player may re-enter a game within the moments allotted.

    Halftime does not count as a moment.

    If a player receives a red card during the regular season, they will be immediately suspended for the remainder of that game. They will also miss the next game as well.

    Players who accumulate two or more red cards during the season will be subject to review by the league.

    There is no yellow card accumulation for the GA.

    U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17 & U-19

    U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17 & U-19

    Yes, GA players are allowed to play for their middle or high school.

    All players must be registered through GotSoccer. Players must go through the portal to prove their age, sign waivers and other forms.

    Rosters will remain open until June 6, 2025. Teams will not be able to add any more players after this date for the playoffs.

    A minimum of 14 Primary Players must be submitted by the initial roster deadline (August 1).

    Maximum of 30 players per GA team in age groups U-13 through U-17.

    The max for U-19 is 40 players.

    A max of 18 players can be rostered on gameday.

    • U-15: A player in 8th grade who is age appropriate for this age group is considered a Trapped Player. They are eligible to play in games at (1) U-14 GA Regional Event while her teammates play high school. There is a max of 3 trapped players per event.
    • U-19: A player in 11th grade who is age appropriate for this age group is considered a Trapped Player. They are allowed to participate in U-17 GA National Events (not Champtions Cup and Playoffs).

    Any GA Registered Player may only play one team and one game per day.
