2025 ECNL Girls Season Champions

San Diego Surf made history by winning two age groups, while Real Colorado, MVLA, and Michigan Hawks also claimed their first titles in thrilling championship matches.
The 2025 ECNL Girls‘ Finals matchups were nothing short of really entertaining!
TL;DR:
The Big Day Finally Arrived
Saturday was like Christmas morning for young soccer players across the country. The ECNL Girls National Finals brought together the best teams in America, and boy, did they deliver some incredible games.
Five age groups. Five new champions. And plenty of heart-stopping moments that had parents gripping their coffee cups a little too tight.
Real Colorado Gets Their Golden Moment (U17)
The oldest girls showed everyone how it’s done with a nail-biter that went right down to the wire. Real Colorado and Sting Black traded punches like seasoned boxers.
Ohio State commit, Isla Eaton got things started early for Colorado with a lucky bounce minutes into the game. But Sting wasn’t about to roll over – Danielle Chaump tied things up right before halftime with a scrappy rebound goal.
The second half turned into a chess match. Colorado kept pushing forward, but Sting’s goalkeeper Kenlea Swadener was having the game of her life. She made save after save, even tipping one shot over the crossbar.
Then came the magic moment. Off a corner kick in the 64th minute, Eaton (with her second goal) rose above everyone else and headed home the winner. Just like that, Real Colorado had their first U17 national title.
MVLA Shows No Mercy (U16)
If you blinked, you might have missed MVLA’s offensive explosion against Kansas City Athletics. These girls came out swinging and never looked back.
Chloe Miller got the party started with a rocket from outside the box that found the upper corner. Sophie McCarthy doubled the lead with a thunderous half-volley off a corner kick. Then Isabella Bertolucci put the game away by taking on two defenders and burying her shot.
KC Athletics tried to mount a comeback when Jacy Hackler scored in the 66th minute, but MVLA’s goalkeeper Anneliese Braun slammed the door shut with a huge kick save.
Final score: MVLA 3, Kansas City 1. First national title? ✅ Check.
Michigan Hawks Fly High Again (U15)
The Hawks proved that defense wins championships with a gritty 2-0 victory over Legends FC. This was Michigan’s second title in three years, showing they know how to build a winning culture.
The game stayed scoreless until the 35th minute when Michigan’s patient passing finally paid off. A Hawks forward found space at the top of the box and ripped one into the net.
But the real dagger came just minutes later. Nyashadzashe Chinyadza turned into a soccer superhero, pressuring a defender right after a goal kick and blocking the clearance. She then flicked the ball with her right foot and buried it in the bottom corner.
Legends tried everything in the second half, but Michigan’s defense stood tall like a brick wall.
San Diego Surf’s Double Trouble (U14 & U13)
Here’s where things get really impressive. San Diego Surf didn’t just win one championship – they won TWO. Talk about showing off.
U14: Back-to-Back Magic
Surf entered as defending champions and had no plans to give up their crown. Against Michigan Hawks, they scored midway through the first half and then doubled their lead with 20 minutes left.
Hawks made things interesting with a beautiful free kick goal in the final five minutes, but Surf held on for a 2-1 victory. Champions again!
U13: The Youngest Stars Shine
In the youngest age group, Surf faced off against Slammers FC HB Køge in an all-California showdown.
Surf scored late in the first half when a cross found its way to an open player with the goalkeeper out of position. Easy finish, 1-0 lead.
The second half belonged to Kensington McGrath, who became the hero with two goals. Her first came on a beautiful counterattack, slipping the ball past the keeper. After Slammers cut it to 2-1, McGrath struck again, fighting off defenders and finding the net for a 3-1 final.
