Girls Academy Titles: U13 Chicago FC & U19 Wasatch SC

Two amazing teams became national champions at the Girls Academy Playoffs that ended on June 24 in Norco, California.
TL;DR:
The Youngest Champions Rise to the Top
Chicago FC United won the U13 national championship by beating Cincinnati United Premier 1-0 in an exciting final game. Tori Beetler from Chicago FC United earned the MVP award for her outstanding play throughout the tournament.
Wasatch SC Powers Through U19 Competition
Wasatch SC from Utah became the U19 national champions by beating NEFC 4-2 in the final game. They won five games in a row during the playoffs and outscored all their opponents 12-4.
Wasatch SC’s offensive attack was the key to their success, and other teams should study how they moved the ball so well together.
Sophia Sivulich, who will play for BYU next year, won the U19 MVP award for her excellent play throughout the tournament.
Special Award Winners
Madison Taylor from HTX Soccer won the Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals in the U19 division. Sophia “The Red Dragon” from SJEB FC earned the U13 Golden Glove Award for being an excellent goalkeeper.
GA Finals Head to Richmond
The soccer action isn’t over yet! Eight teams from each U14, U15, U16, and U17 age group will compete in Richmond, Virginia from July 10-13 for the GA Finals – the last big event of the season.
Here’s how the exciting four-day tournament will work:
- Thursday: Quarterfinal games in all age groups
- Friday: Semifinal games and consolation matches
- Sunday: Championship finals and more consolation games
Every team gets to play three games, so all 32 teams will have plenty of chances to show their skills.
Having the championships split between California and Virginia gives more young players across the country a chance to see top-level soccer without traveling too far.
