The world of soccer bid farewell to an icon as Alex Morgan walked off the field for the last time on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Fighting back tears, Morgan waved to the crowd as she left the field, capping off an illustrious 15-year career.
“What a ride it’s been,” Morgan told the proud crowd.
We thank you for everything you’ve done for the game.
Despite the loss, Morgan’s final game was filled with memorable moments.
In the 13 minutes she played, she showed flashes of the skill and determination that made her one of the best players in the world.
Days before her final match, Morgan announced on social media that she was pregnant with her second child and retiring from the game.
As the final whistle blew, fans and players paid tribute to Morgan’s incredible career.
She leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for decades to come.
