3Step Sports Acquires EDP Soccer
3STEP Sports has recently acquired EDP Soccer, International Sporting Events, and New York Club Soccer, which has enabled them to add enhanced league and event management capabilities to the expanding 3STEP Sports Soccer Division.
EDP, which stands for Elite Development Program, was founded in 1999. The league provides an opportunity for over 130,000 youth soccer players with a chance to play the game they love. This includes boys’ and girls competitive leagues, events, showcases, and festivals.
Spanning New England, the Mid-Atlantic, Ohio, Florida, and Eastern Canada, EDP Soccer also offers college recruiting and placement services to 70% of youth soccer players who will compete at the collegiate level.
3STEP Sports LLC is the industry leader for youth sports clubs and events in the country, impacting 1.2+ million athletes from all 50 states across nine different sports. As the leading and most dependable platform for all athletes to live out their passions, 3STEP has reimagined youth sports by providing access to top-tier coaching, nationally-ranked events, best-in-class facilities, and premier media content to all athletes.
3STEP Sports has acquired EDP Soccer to increase cooperative initiatives with 3STEP Soccer leagues, events, and soccer clubs to better serve players, families, coaches, teams, and clubs with superior league play and competitive events.
What Will Happen to EDP?
EDP Soccer will continue to serve youth players and their parents, teams, and clubs in leagues it has established. EDP Soccer joins the New England Club Soccer League, National Academy League, and the Regional Academy League, as a strong coalition of 3STEP-owned and operated youth soccer leagues.
With the new ownership, I think we’ll see tighter integration between the league and its clubs. 3STEP Sports also owns soccer clubs which pair well with the purchase of the EDP.
